KAPU PATEL,

Owner / Photographer / Visual Story Designer

I am Kapu. I am a daughter, wife, mother, sister, friend, entrepreneur, women power builder, all rolled into one. Some days one of these many roles take priority over others.

Portraiture is my calling.

I want to know more about you. I want to capture that true essence of you and I want to make it as easy for you as possible. You be You and leave the rest to me. I want to show you what love looks like in a fabulous portrait.

Standing high above mud and water, the lotus rises to faultless beauty from its imperfect environment. Our lotus emanates our radiant light, our beauty as seen by all those who love us!

and this is why our logo is a lotus.

The portrait session is all about YOU. The authentic You and that is why I spell my name kapu and not Kapu!

PEOPLE who make me want to be better everyday!

fun facts about me:

I only like to cook if someone grocery shops for me.

I avoid malls like a plague but if you make something with your hands I will drive miles to come purchase it, especially if it is a handloom saree.

I pretend that I am an early riser by setting my alarm for 5:30 am and snoozing it a few times because I am a sunset chaser.

Caffeine is my drug of choice.

My passport is always current, for you never know when a good trip opportunity arises!

I love listening to audio books and podcasts but hardly ever watch TV.

I have a distinct right and left brain. I can go from a scientist to a creative in one single breath.

I can chew your ear off if you are sitting next to me on a plane or train but I am nervous in a large networking group. I am officially an introvert on scales and instruments.

I’d chose a lake and a mountain over the ocean any day and yet I am trying co conquer my fear of water and heights.

I did my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training so I could take better Yoga Portraits and fell in love with teaching. My favorite pose is a half moon but reaching the ground is a work in progress.

I love free style dancing so watch out when I am on a dance floor. My favorite place I danced in was the African Savannah at sunset.

My favorite travel moment was when I got to write on the “Before I die” wall by Candy Chung in Stewart, Alaska.
