Meet Aura. She’s beautiful and has a very calm, poised energy around her.
When I spoke with her she described herself as a free spirit. She told me how all her life she has followed her heart and explored. During our initial consult, it felt like I was talking to a friend. She vividly described this crane, she would observe everyday from her place. The crane would sit in a place for the longest time and then flap his wings and fly away. She said to me she feels the same way about herself and can relate to the crane. Even though she is rooted now, she knows she can spread her wings and fly away whenever she is ready….and so we capturedthat essence of her in this portrait below: a rooted free spirit, flapping its wings ready to fly, fly away.
Aura’s Beyond 40 portrait session was a gift from her daughters. They wanted us to capture all of their mom’s beauty and strength in portraiture. There are so many facets to Aura’s personality - she’s a passionate singer and we are so fortunate we got to see her sing in the studio. Through her song she told a beautiful story about the birth of a daughter and what it does to a new father. There was a pin drop silence when she started to sing, slowly the sniffles began, there were some choked words and tears, oh, lots of tears!
